Coat Cooke

Coat Cooke Trio

Vancouver saxophonist Coat Cooke leads the hard-hitting and interactive Coat Cooke Trio, bringing together one of Canada's most lyrical and inventive saxophonists with bassist Clyde Reed and drummer Kenton Loewen.

Clyde Reed is a brilliant and unique bassist that has enjoyed long-term musical collaborations with internationally known artists including Vinny Golia, Rich Halley, George Lewis, and Claude Ranger. His playing has been featured on a number of critically acclaimed recordings, the most recent being Blue Rims—The Rich Halley Trio with Bobby Bradford.

Kenton Loewen has played drums for most of his life, and has made a place for himself in the Vancouver music scene as well as in international touring. His telepathic playing and brilliant dynamic sense keeps him an integral part of the local jazz scene playing with people like clarinet player Francois Houle, guitarist Ron Samworth and experimental/electronic composer Peter Hannan. Kenton has just returned from touring Europe with guitarist Gordon Grdina.
